Need birds explain why they fly? They have wings, do they not? Why wouldn’t they fly? Need I explain myself, as well?
If I must explain myself, it is because one day I found myself on the shore of this island, and I suddenly realized that beyond that seemingly boundless blue was a whole other world yet to be discovered.If I am being quite honest, and certainly this gin has provided me with an air of frankness, love is an anchor.

Elsie was all that I ever wanted, but after years and years with her she became all that I had. We’re always looking for a reason, aren’t we? Some cataclysmic event, some...thing that disintegrates a connection, something we can point to and say, ‘that was why. That was the beginning of the end.’ But what if it is nothing? What if it is just natural regression, like flowers that die without ever having been plucked. There were nights when I found myself sitting in the alley across our home, waiting for the bedroom candle to expire, waiting for her to stop waiting, and that’s when I knew I had to leave...
